Pakowhai Marae

We had a wonderful weekend together staying at the Pakowhai Marae in Patutahi. What a very calming and warm space this was to be together and to practise our Te Reo. We had the pleasure of listening to a number of local stories told by Kaumatua Albie and Max who is a local expert from Tangata Whenua. In groups we painted our reflections of these local stories and what our te reo teaching journey will look like back in our classrooms and in our school. This was the final part of our Te Ahu o Te Reo Course for this year and we are look forward to continuing our te reo learning journey in 2022. Ahiahi marie. 

 

Yellow The Baby Duckling

 George and Ollie found a baby duckling in the long grass in their Poppa's paddock. They have named the duckling Yellow and wanted to share some pictures of their new friend. 

Life Education With Harold The Giraffe

Last week we enjoyed our visits in the Life Education Van. Our focus was around the knowledge we have about our food and why it is important to eat throughout the day. Our host Beau was fantastic in helping us learn about our kai and reminding us about our important food groups and are "sometimes" foods.

Let's Get Back Into Construction!

Miss McDonald visited Larsen Sawmilling on Saturday and collected a number of different sized wood pieces for our Play Based Learning.

From tomorrow we will be including outside construction again as part of our Play Based Learning. I'm looking forward to seeing you practice your hammering and sawing skills and hearing all about the wonderful pieces you design and create during this learning time. 

Farm Life At Sadie's!

Check out the farm life at Sadie's! It's so lovely to see you enjoying and helping with docking the lambs Sadie, you look like you are living your best life! I can see some yummy treats you are enjoying with your brother too and some face painting! Thank you for sharing your photos Sadie! Can't wait to see you back at school. 

In the Greenhouse with Layla
